About Us

Welcome to The Lewis Academy of Dancing

I would like to introduce myself, I trained at The London School of Classical Dance with Molly Lake and Travis Kemp, going onto study with Richard Glasstone and gaining my Licentiate with distinction and my fellowship with the ISTD.

In 1984 I established The Lewis Academy of Dancing, renowned for excellent training in ISTD Cecchetti Ballet, ISTD Modern, Jazz and Tap.  My pupils have achieved excellent results in their grade and major examinations, many gaining distinction.

As well as winning prestigious awards such as the Mabel Ryan and Cecchetti Choreographic Competition, my pupils have also performed at The Royal Opera House, Sadlers Wells and Her Majesty’s Theatre, London.

My alumni have gone on to train at The Royal Ballet School, Arts Educational Schools, Central School, Rambert School, Laine Theatre Arts, London Studio Centre, Guildford School of Acting and Brits Academy.

I am very excited to be working with your wonderful children, who I have had the pleasure of not only teaching but watching them work hard and dance beautifully.

Every child I have met has been motivated, well turned out and charming a testament to the excellent training of the school and I am looking forward to a long and happy association with you and your children.

The Academy has a broad range of courses that cover Ballet,Jazz and Tap. Which we run from several locations around the Wokingham area. We work closely with the ISTD and prepare children for the ISTD Cecchetti examinations if this is their chosen route. (More can be found on the ISTD website)

Children are given the opportunity to perform in our school production, to enter the Mabel Ryan at Sadlers Wells, to choreograph their own dance for the Cecchetti Choreography Competition and audition for Cecchetti associate and Cecchetti Scholarship classes.

I hope you will browse the website and if you need anymore information or have any questions please email me at lewisdancing@hotmail.com

We look forward to welcoming you to the academy very soon
